Manchester United and Scotland legend Denis Law, the only Scottish player to ever win the Ballon d’Or, has died at the age of 84.

Born in Aberdeen, Law begin his career at Huddersfield before moving to Torino in Italy. And has won 55 caps for Scotland, scoring 30 goals. Making him Scotland’s joint-highest goalscorer of all time.
He was sold for a British record three times during his career.
In 2021, he was diagnose with Alzheimer’s disease and vascular dementia.
“We are deeply sadden to inform you that our father Denis Law has passed away. He had a difficult time but is now at peace.” the family said in a statement.

He was part of the United side that became the first English team to win the European Cup, beating Benfica 4-1 in 1968.
He also won an FA Cup and two Premier League titles with United. While also helping Scotland win six Home Championship titles.
