Brighton boss reveals key factor that led Liverpool to victory

  • Fabian Herzeler admits Anfield’s noisy atmosphere could have been part of Liverpool’s 2-1 comeback win
  • Ferdy Kadioglu gave Brighton an early lead but Liverpool pulled one back with quick goals from Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah.

Brighton & Hove Albion manager Fabian Herzeler admitted the noisy and stressful Anfield atmosphere could have been part of the reason Liverpool came from behind to win 2-1.

“Every 50-50 moment in this game went in Liverpool’s favour, the referee blew in their favour in every 50-50 situation,” Herzeler

Hurzeler, 31, is the youngest permanent head coach in Premier League history and is also the youngest to win a Manager of the Month award.

Furthermore, he is the first manager to win a Manager of the Month award in his first month in the Premier League since Ange Postecoglou achieved the feat with Tottenham Hotspur in August 2023.

“To be honest, I don’t know the reason. Maybe it was because the atmosphere in the stadium was too loud. It made us feel pressured and distracted, and led to the loss of our momentum.”

Ferdy Kadioglu gave Brighton a 14th-minute lead but Liverpool pick up the slack in the second half with Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah.
